Health & Safety & Operations Coordinator 



Work location: London, Ontario

Status: Permanent, Full Time



Our team is growing! We are looking to add a new Health & Safety & Operations Coordinator to the team.

This position belongs to the sector of Crop Production, specializing in the sourcing and supplying crop input products and services to retail businesses while utilizing the synergy's created between our three business sectors. The successful candidate will work within a growing team to be responsible for providing health and safety (H&S) guidance within the Agromart Group of partners as well as the ATI terminal business. The team will:

  • Be recognized as the EH&S leaders for the Agromart Group of partners;
  • Deliver a comprehensive training program that maintains compliance within all regulatory responsibilities we are required to adhere to;
  • Support and develop training system relative to specific individuals at specific Agromarts;
  • Use assessment tools to evaluate the safety program at each Agromart;
  • Make recommendations to increase the effectiveness of the H&S program across the group of partners;
  • Participate in planned site inspections at all Agromart locations and providing a formal report that is reviewed and understood by the individual Agromart;
  • Participate in incident investigations as required to understand root cause and mitigate further risks to the business;
  • Share incident overview and corrective actions across the group to create awareness and avoid similar situations at other businesses;
  • Communicate regularly with safety representatives from each Agromart;
  • Maintain a proactive approach to eliminating risk by creating awareness of hazards that the industry is subject to;
  • Stay current with all H&S regulatory requirements for our business;
  • Participate in developing specific return to work programs for individuals trying to integrate back into a modified work program;
  • Liaise with the environmental team to ensure the environmental initiatives (NPRI reporting) are clear and followed through on at each Agromart;
  • Participate in the environmental assessments at the Agromarts;
  • Be current with and communicate actions taken regarding the Registry set for each business to ensure our reduction of open items plan stays on track;
  • Develop an understanding of each Agromart business that enables the team to provide feedback on business impact factors relative to specific projects;
  • Identify asset health concerns when participating in plant inspections (guarding, corrosion and other defects noticed). Communicating with the partners;
  • Attend capital planning meetings within the group of Agromarts;
  • Develop the required skillset to participate in specific projects while being a representative present at contractor meetings to identify areas of opportunity and communicate with others as to the aspects that may form risk within various parts of a project;
  • Understanding the useful life of custom application equipment used to service the farm customer;
  • Attend trade shows to stay current with new technology and equipment within the industry;
  • Take a lead role in the operating training events.



  • University degree in an applicable discipline;
  • Minimum of 3 years of EH&S, preventative measures, project planning, asset planning experience;
  • Understanding of Ag Retail;
  • Effective cooperation with teammates locally and across the globe;
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to adapt to constant change;
  • Approachable and a positive attitude.
  • This position requires frequent travel. A valid driver’s licence is essential.
